Once we receive all signed and completed documents, your dispatcher will then secure a load for you within 24-48 hours.
  • DO I HAVE TO SIGN A CONTRACT?
No, you do not have to sign a contract. We do not force dispatch. However, we do ask for a dispatch/carrier agreement to be signed. This agreement outlines all of the services that The Interstate Chief, LLC will provide for its carriers. This agreement must be signed in order for our dispatchers to represent our carriers, but it does not bind you to our services. You can choose to sever professional ties at any time.
  • DO I NEED MY OWN MC/AUTHORITY?
Yes, all owner-operators and carriers must have an active MC/Authority in order to utilize our dispatching services. We work with owner-operators that are working under their own MC/authority, as well as with carriers with company drivers.
  • MY AUTHORITY IS FAIRLY NEW. CAN YOU STILL DISPATCH FOR ME?
Absolutely! The Interstate Chief, LLC has access to a long list of brokers and shippers who work with carriers with new authorities. We will set you up with all our contacts and will get your truck loaded within 48 hours once we receive the signed dispatch/carrier agreement from you.
  • WHAT KIND OF EQUIPMENT DO YOU DISPATCH FOR?
We generally dispatch for dry vans, flatbeds, reefers and power-only equipment. Unfortunately, we do not dispatch for box trucks or cargo vans at this time.
  • WILL I NEED TO FILL OUT ANY BROKER PACKETS?
Absolutely not! Once you complete our dispatch/carrier agreement, we will have everything we need to start booking your loads. Your personalized dispatcher will complete ALL paperwork on your behalf, which includes all broker set-up packets.
  • CAN I DECLINE A LOAD?
We do not force dispatch, so we will not require you to take any load that you don't want to take. Trust and communication between the dispatcher and the carrier is very important. Carriers: please note that our dispatch/carrier agreement includes a carrier profile sheet. This carrier profile sheet gives you the opportunity to outline your preferences and define your requirements for your dispatcher. If you indicate on the profile sheet that you do not like to travel to a particular state or region, your dispatcher will not send you that way. We work hard to ensure that we are booking strategic, high paying-loads that are based on our carriers individualized preferences. Once a rate-confirmation is signed, the load cannot be canceled.
  • WILL I NEED TO REQUEST INSURANCE CERTIFICATES EACH TIME?
We will work with your insurance agent to receive insurance certificates with the proper certificate holder information.
  • HOW DO I GET PAID?
As a carrier, you will be running under your own authority so all billing and receivables will be made directly to you from brokers and shippers. You can also use a factoring company to receive your payments quicker.
  • CAN YOU SET US UP WITH A FACTORING COMPANY?
Yes. If you need assistance we can most certainly assist you with getting set up with a factoring company.
  • HOW MUCH REVENUE CAN I MAKE BY PARTNERING WITH THE INTERSTATE CHIEF?
We work hard to meet a quota of $5000 gross per week, but we will always strive to go above and beyond that quota. Our dispatchers work on commission, so the more that we gross for your truck, the more that we make as well. Although we cannot guarantee any numbers from week to week, we can assure you that we do thorough research on the freight market to ensure that we book loads in lanes that will maximize the profit of your truck(s).
  • WHEN AND HOW DO I PAY FOR YOUR DISPATCHING SERVICES?
Payments are expected on a weekly basis. We use a payment week of Sunday (12:00am) through Saturday (11:59pm). Once a full week of loads have been hauled, we send an invoice to our carriers every Sunday at 9:00am EST and payments must be cleared within 24 hours, by Monday at 9:00am EST. Any payments received after 9:00am EST on Monday may incur a late fee.
